Manasota Operation Troop Support (MOTS) was started in 2007 as a grass roots organization at King Middle School by a teacher, Jim Comkomcyz, whose son was serving in the Middle East and was severely wounded. Upon returning from Walter Reed Hospital, "Mr. C" was determined to find what his community could do to help other local troops. He felt like the community could do more than what they were doing.

MOTS sends monthly packages to local deployed troops with ties to Manatee and Sarasota Counties who are serving in the Middle East. They and their families receive help before, during and after deployment by MOTS.

MOTS is always looking for more troops to serve. Contact Linda Craig at 941-782-0748.

Cash donations are always welcome (and always needed). You can mail a check to: MOTS, Lakewood Business Park, 4301 32nd St W, Suite C20, Bradenton, FL 34205. For a credit card donation, please call Linda Craig at 941-782-0748.

106.5 WCTQ RADIOTHON FOR MOTS

Our heroes need our help! Make a donation now to make a difference in the lives of local deployed military personnel.

On Wednesday, September 11, 106.5 WCTQ opens its microphones for Manasota Operation Troop Support (MOTS). At MOTS, we send monthly care packages to deployed troops with ties to Manatee and Sarasota counties who are serving in the Middle East. We also provide gap funding for things like gas cards, stress-relief activities, and other much-needed support for our returned heroes. Your donation during this daylong 9/11 radiothon will ensure that local active-duty and retired military personnel and their families receive the care they need and deserve before, during, and after deployment.

Reaching our goal of $15,000 will pay for postage for MOTS for an entire year as well as other vital assistance we provide! Donate by completing the form on the CTQ website, or stop by the Target plaza at University Parkway and Cattlemen Road to donate in person between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. on 9/11.

Learn more at www.1065ctq.com. And thank you for helping our heroes!
